Mud Silk a gauze silk product made by coating the mulberry silk fabric with the juice of yam, and then covering it with mineral-containing rivers and ponds and processed by sun exposure.

 

To make this kind of fabric, many processes involved which are done by manual. In the production process of Mud Silk, the operations of soaking, sprinkling, sealing, boiling and washing are very complicated and delicate. A complete dyeing cycle of Mud Silk takes 15 days, but it will be prolonged and affected by weather, and the post-processing will take three months to half a year.

 

Mud Silk feels refreshing and moisturizing, waterproof, sunscreen, hand-washing fastness, easy to wash, easy to dry and durable, etc.

 

Because of the natural dyeing processes, it is now treated as National intangible cultural heritage.
